1. Who we are

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your relationship with Mega Solar Energy Traders("we," "us," "our"), a Nepal-registered company providing solar, smart-home, security, and EV-charging products and installation services.

We operate from our workshop at Gokarneshwor, Jorpati, Kathmandu and deliver across Nepal. By using our website, requesting a quote, or purchasing any product or service from us, you agree to these Terms.

2. Quotes & site assessments

Free site assessments are offered for serious enquiries within Kathmandu Valley. For locations outside the valley, a refundable travel charge may apply, which is credited back if you proceed with an order.

All quotes are valid for 30 days from the date issued. Pricing is itemised — equipment, installation labour, mounting hardware, and applicable VAT are listed separately. We do not add hidden charges after the quote is accepted.

If site conditions change between assessment and installation (additional wiring required, structural reinforcement needed, roof access changes, etc.), we will issue a revised quote for your written approval before proceeding.

3. Orders & payments

Orders are confirmed once we have received your written acceptance (email, signed quote, or in-person) and an advance payment. Standard payment terms are:

  • 50% advance on order confirmation, to procure equipment.
  • 40% on installation start, before mounting hardware arrives on-site.
  • 10% on commissioning, after the system is fully tested and handed over to you.

Accepted payment methods: bank transfer (preferred), cheque, eSewa, Khalti, FonePay, and cash for sums under NPR 50,000. We issue VAT invoices for every transaction.

Pricing in NPR. International card payments are not accepted at this time.

4. Delivery & installation

Standard delivery and installation lead times:

  • In-stock products: 2–7 working days within Kathmandu Valley; 7–14 days for other regions.
  • Made-to-order systems (custom solar arrays, large gate motors): 3–6 weeks depending on equipment availability.
  • Permits & net-metering applications: additional 2–4 weeks handled by us on your behalf.

Installation timelines are estimates. Force-majeure events (monsoon delays, customs hold-ups, NEA approval delays) may extend timelines — we will keep you informed at every step.

5. Warranty

Each product carries the manufacturer's warranty (typically 5–25 years for solar panels, 2–10 years for inverters, 1–5 years for electronics). On top of that, Mega Solar offers a 10-year installation workmanship warranty covering mounting, wiring, and configuration defects.

Warranty does not cover:

  • Damage from natural disasters, lightning strikes, or floods
  • Modifications, repairs, or interference by unauthorized third parties
  • Cosmetic wear and tear
  • Performance loss caused by panel soiling beyond agreed cleaning schedules

Warranty claims are handled in person at our Jorpati workshop or via a scheduled site visit. We do not offer mail-in warranty service.

6. Returns & cancellations

Stocked products in original, unopened packaging may be returned within 14 days for a full refund less a 5% restocking fee.

Custom-configured systems and made-to-order equipment cannot be returned once production has started, but may be cancelled before procurement begins (typically within 3 days of order confirmation) with full refund minus a 2% transaction fee.

Installation deposits are refundable if cancellation occurs at least 7 days before the scheduled installation date.

7. Use of our website

You agree to use our website lawfully and not to scrape, reverse- engineer, attack, or attempt to disrupt its services. Account credentials (where applicable) must be kept confidential — you are responsible for activity under your account.

8. Intellectual property

All website content — logo, photography of our installations, written articles, system designs, and the "Mega Solar Energy Traders" brand — is owned by us or licensed to us. You may share excerpts with attribution but may not reproduce content commercially without written permission.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Nepali law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the specific product or service giving rise to the claim during the preceding 12 months.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (lost profit, lost data, business interruption) except where required by law.

10. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Nepal. Any dispute will first be addressed through good-faith negotiation between you and our management. If unresolved within 30 days, the matter will be referred to arbitration under the Nepal Arbitration Act, conducted in Kathmandu in either English or Nepali.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect new services, regulatory changes, or business needs. The latest version will always be available on this page with the "Last updated" date shown above. Continued use of our website or services after changes means you accept the revised Terms.
