About gate automation

Designed to last,
built to perform.

Our gate automation solutions provide enhanced security and convenience for residential and commercial properties. We offer a range of motorized gate systems for sliding, swinging, and barrier gates, all designed for reliable operation and long-term durability. Our systems can be integrated with access control technologies and security systems for comprehensive property protection.

Gate automation is our single most-installed category in Nepal. Walled compounds with manual gates are standard here — from Baluwatar bungalows to Pokhara lakeside homes — and retrofitting an automated motor takes one or two days with zero disruption to the existing gate structure. The result: no more getting out of your car in monsoon rain or midnight darkness just to open the gate.

We stock three main motor categories: sliding gate motors (the most common — suits gates up to 800 kg or 6 m width), swing gate motors (twin-arm or underground), and barrier motors (for commercial entries and hotel car parks). Each category has multiple brand tiers — we recommend Everest for value, Italian (BFT, Came) for longevity, and industrial-grade motors for commercial sites.

Nepal's monsoon and voltage variability are real design constraints. We spec IP65 weatherproof enclosures as standard, surge-protected control boards, and a 100 Ah battery backup that keeps the gate operational for 30–50 cycles during a power outage. For properties with frequent outages (still common in some Lalitpur and Kaski wards), we offer an optional solar-trickle-charge add-on.

Safety is non-negotiable. Every installation includes photocell obstacle sensors (the infrared beams that detect something in the gate's path), amperage-based reverse mechanism (the motor senses resistance and reverses), and manual emergency release (you can always disengage the motor and open the gate by hand). We won't install a gate motor without these three — no exceptions.

Integration matters. Most clients want the gate tied to a video door phone (see visitor before opening), a smart-home app (approach detection), or an access control system (RFID cards for family, time-limited codes for guests). We plan this at quote stage so the wiring supports it from day one.

How we work —

Step-by-step for gate automation.

Every project follows the same rigorous path — from free consultation to lifetime support.

  • 01

    Gate assessment

We measure gate weight, width, hinge condition, track quality, and power availability at the pillar. If the existing gate isn't structurally suitable for automation, we'll tell you upfront (and optionally recommend a replacement).

  • 02

    Motor selection & quote

Based on gate specs and your budget, we recommend a motor category and brand tier. Quote includes motor, control board, remotes, photocell sensors, battery backup, mounting hardware, and wiring.

  • 03

    Installation (1–2 days)

Motor mounting, control-board wiring, photocell positioning, remote pairing, test cycles. Existing gate stays in place — we retrofit around it.

  • 04

    Safety tuning

We calibrate obstacle sensitivity, speed, and auto-close timing to your specific use case. Children? Slower close. Commercial site? Faster cycle. Long driveway? Extended open time.

  • 05

    User training & handover

Every family member trained on remote, app (if integrated), and emergency manual release. Printed quick-reference card stays with the gate.

  • 06

    Annual service

Year-one annual service included: grease tracks, test battery, verify photocell alignment, firmware update if applicable. From year two onwards we offer annual service contracts.

FAQ —

Answers we hear weekly.

Ordered roughly by how often customers ask. If your question isn't here, call or message — we'll add it.

  1. 01

Will gate automation work with my existing gate?

Usually yes. We check three things during the site visit: (1) gate weight — must be within the motor's rated range, (2) hinge/track condition — worn hardware needs repair first, (3) power at the pillar — if there's no outlet nearby we'll need to run new wiring. 90% of Nepali residential gates are compatible.

  2. 02

What happens during a power cut?

With our standard 100 Ah battery backup, the gate operates normally for 30–50 cycles during an outage. Beyond that, there's a manual emergency release — turn the key, disengage the motor, and open the gate by hand in under 10 seconds.

  3. 03

Is it safe for kids and pets?

Yes, with the standard safety kit we install. Photocell sensors stop the gate instantly if anything breaks the beam. Amperage-based reverse detects physical obstruction and reverses. We calibrate safety sensitivity specifically for homes with young children.

  4. 04

    How long does installation take?

1–2 days for a straightforward retrofit. Add half a day if new wiring is needed to the pillar. Commercial barrier gates with RFID and loop detectors take 3–5 days.

  5. 05

Can I open the gate from my phone?

Yes. Most of our installations include a mobile app (via GSM/WiFi gateway) for remote open/close from anywhere. You can also grant time-limited access to guests — no need to be home to let someone in.

  6. 06

What's the difference between Everest and Italian motors?

Everest (Chinese) is good value: reliable for 5–8 years with reasonable maintenance. Italian (BFT, Came) is premium: reliable for 10–15+ years, quieter, smoother, better support. Our rule of thumb — Italian if you'll own the house for 10+ years, Everest if short-term or budget-constrained.

  7. 07

Do I need a special electrical connection?

Most residential motors run on standard 230 V AC. A dedicated 10 A circuit at the pillar is ideal but not mandatory. Commercial barrier motors sometimes need 3-phase — we'll assess during the site visit.

  8. 08

    What's the warranty?

Motor: 2 years (Everest) or 5 years (Italian/BFT). Control board: 2 years. Battery: 1 year. Installation workmanship: 2 years from us. We handle warranty claims locally — no shipping back to the manufacturer.
