On the ground in Nepalgunj —
What's different here.
Nepalgunj's extreme heat is a real engineering constraint. Standard-spec smart-lock batteries drop from 18 months to 6 months here. We only install high-temperature-rated (65°C) hardware in Nepalgunj and spec thermal shade for outdoor inverters. Don't accept a Kathmandu-spec quote for Banke.
Proximity to the Indian border (Rupaidiha, 6 km south) makes Nepalgunj a trading hub. Our commercial customers here are often warehouses, trading offices, and customs-clearing agencies — all requiring access control, CCTV, and in some cases biometric attendance systems.
The hospital segment is significant: Bheri Hospital and two private hospitals upgraded their access control and CCTV through us in 2023–2024. Healthcare installs require strict documentation and audit trails — we use NVR platforms that support multi-year log retention.
Solar in Nepalgunj has the highest annual irradiance of any of our service cities (5.6 kWh/m²/day) but the worst summer performance due to dust and ambient temperature derating. Net output is still excellent — a 3 kW system produces ~5,200 kWh/year here, ~25% more than Kathmandu.
Travel logistics: 13 hours from Kathmandu by road, 55-min flight. We batch Nepalgunj projects every 6–8 weeks. One-time travel/logistics: NPR 25,000–35,000 for single jobs. Crew stays 5–7 days per trip to amortise travel cost across multiple installs.
- Nearest NEA office
- NEA Nepalgunj Distribution Centre. Net-metering Sun–Fri 10:00–16:00.
- Solar irradiance
- 5.6 kWh/m²/day average (highest annual total; summer derate significant)
- Monsoon impact
- June–August: short but intense monsoon. August–September: occasional flooding in low-lying wards. Scheduling plans around confirmed dry windows.
- Typical pricing
- Nepalgunj residential pricing matches Kathmandu with NPR 25,000–35,000 one-time travel. High-heat hardware adds ~8% to BOM. Commercial quoted per site.
